Go-Pack: Crisis Pack Recommendation

How to Pack an Emergency Kit for Any Disaster. Go-Pack: Crisis Pack Recommendation.

Things are getting a bit rocky in the United State, and although this is nothing compared to many other countries, Americans are starting to really feel what it is like to live in a country with political and civil unrest.

Welcome America, there are no member jackets or pins but you can feel free to wear whatever memorabilia you choose that depicts what side of the fight you’re on… Anyway, that’s not why we are here. We are here to discuss the perfect 2020 ‘Go-Pack’ if things get out of control.

What’s a “Go-Pack” you might ask?

Well it’s exactly what it sounds like, a pack that sits and waits for you in your home for when it’s time to go and there’s no time to pack.

Here are just a few suggestions that might be worth including in your go-pack.

1. Mechanical/Solar Powered Flashlight

You’re going to need light and you’re going to need to be able to generate it without the use of power… so you’ve got this handy gadget. Most of the time these come with some sort of hand crank device or a solar panel on top so that you can fill the battery during the day and have it for the night time.

2. Non-Perishable Food

This suggestion comes with a caveat which is that it is a great idea to have canned food that doesn’t go bad in a bunker or safe-room, but if you are going to bring this non-perishable food with you, weight becomes a very significant part of this equation. Metal cans are heavy and difficult to carry, so various health bars and nuts along with other items similar are better choices for a portable Go-Pack.

3. Wi-Fi Hotspot

You’re going to need the internet, there’s no way around that at this day and age. You’ll probably have your phone, or laptop, or both, and you don’t know the next time you will be not-mobile, it’s important to be completely self-sufficient for as long as possible. The beauty of a WiFi Hotspot is that it’s usually designed to catch an internet signal more effectively than your cell phone AND some WiFi Hotspots like this one from skyroam actually have built in battery packs that you can use to power your cell phone or computer when it also runs out of juice inevitably.

4. Paracord

Rope, especially durable nylon braided rope, will become your best friend in a survival situation. It’s light, it’s easy to pack and can be used to make almost anything in any environment.

5. Lighter

You’ll want some sort of fire starting device. There are some heavy duty and waterproof lighters out there, so that might be the best place to start. But any lighter will do in theory… all depending on how self-sufficient you are trying to be.

6. Sharp Multi-Purpose Knife

I saved this for the end of the list, not because it’s not important. But because it’s potentially the most important. You could use this knife for protection, tool making, hunting if necessary, and a host of other important survival activities.

Of course I didn’t mention a durable backpack in this list, but I figured that was pretty self-explanatory… can’t have a Go-Pack without the pack part. Keep in mind, this is a only a starter list to get your brain moving as far as what you may require. There are other items that should be added to this. But those become more discretionary based on the environment and location. The most important thing to remember is to be prepared for anything, because who knows what can happen next.
