Must see Theme Parks and Rides of Singapore

One thing that every visitor to Singapore will agree is that you will never run out of things to do irrespective of the length of your stay. From the adrenaline overdose of the G-Max Reverse Bungy or the GX-5 Extreme Swing to the calm and mesmerizing musical and special effects show, the Songs of the Sea, Singapore has a lot to offer to those who seek exciting fun events and activities. Take a look at what you can expect.

The Singapore Flyer

The Singapore Flyer is a giant observation wheel, probably one of the largest in the world. It is 150 meters in diameter and takes you 165 meters high. It takes around half an hour to complete one rotation. Sitting in one of its 28 air-conditioned capsules you can get spectacular views of the city. The view is very different but equally breathtaking either in the day or at night.

Sentosa Skyline Luge and Skyride

Sentosa

The Luge is your chance to take part in an exciting downhill ride with the luge depending just on gravity for its traction and your controlling skills to guide it on the track. The Luge hurtles down its 650 meters track going steeply downhill from the Imbiah Lookout to the Siloso Beach.

After that fun ride in the luge, you can take the Skyride back to the Imbiah Lookout for another go. The Skyride is an open chair-lift driven by cables. The ride gives you some nice views of the beaches around the area.

If you liked the first luge ride try the 688 meters, second track. The second track called The Dragon Tail is even more fun with some real tight corners set amidst themed landscaping and night lighting.

The Singapore Science Centre

This is an excellent place to spend time for the whole family and the perfect place to give kids a close up view of science in action with its fascinating interactive exhibits. You can spend the whole day here and you would still not be able to really go through its lineup of over 1000 exhibits. Kids will have fun finding their way through the water maze which is made up of jets of water shooting up from the ground.

Universal Studios Singapore

Another great place for kids and adults alike, it is based on movie themes and has many fun rides and shows. The Hollywood Boulevard which should be the starting point of your visit is also the main shopping area of the park. You will get a feel of being in the United States and get a chance to take some fun photos with the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Marilyn Monroe.

The Ancient Egypt section will greet you with two huge statues of guards. The atmosphere and ambience will take you to those ancient times in Egypt. The ‘Revenge of the Mummy’ ride can be fun for grownups, but not really recommended for small kids.

Take a trip to the land of the dinosaurs in the Lost World section based on the movies of the Jurassic era where you can get a feel of what a huge T-Rex would have looked like at close range. The other two sections, namely Far Far Away and Madagascar are obvious hits with kids. Everyone will have the opportunity to take photos with Shrek and Fiona. The other fun characters from these movies are also present to entertain you.

The theme parks of Singapore are a package of endless fun and excitement. Don’t forget to see the Songs of the Sea. Only if you are brave enough and enjoy the adrenalin high should you think of getting on the G-Max Reverse Bungy which throws you up 60 meters into the air at speeds close to 200 km per hour giving you an astronaut like feeling with the G Force included.  The other option is the GX-5 which is nothing but a giant swing which reaches a high point of 50 meters and then takes you to the opposite high reaching speeds of 120 km per hour in between.
